* ANNOUNCEMENT HIGHLIGHTS * |
We warmly thank Oppiliappan Koil Dr. Sri. Varadhachari Sadagopan Swamin and principal members of his “Sri Hayagriva Likhita Kaimkarya Goshti” – Sri. Srikanthan Veeraraghavan, Sri. Muralidharan Desikachari and Smt. Jayashree Muralidharan for preparing the English translation of Srimad Andavan’s Shrimukham with HH’s Anugraham and Kataksham. Their English translation of Srimad Andavan’s Shrimukham is given above. We respectfully honor Dr. Sri. Varadhachari Sadagopan and his eminent Goshti for gifting all of us his pioneering e-books which give the equivalent meaning in English along with his prolific commentaries in his own exemplary style for Sri Desika Stotra Mala, Desika Prabandham, Divya Prabandham, Upanishad, Vedas and much more. He is a renowned and illustrious scholar in our Jagadharcharya Srimad Sri Bhagavad Ramanuja’s tenet of Shri Vaishnavism and an articulate exponent of Swami Vedanta Desika Sampradayam. His famous website www.sadagopan.org is an e-library with over 500+ publications.
Kindly bear with us for your read of this lengthy announcement highlights and details as well since it is packed with a lot of useful and interesting information. We assure you it is structured enough for the logical breaks you need.
As an integral part of the Thirunakshatram celebrations, our Acharyan is blessing the following major announcements with

The pdf book and booklets are available at this website and newly-created videos for all Sri Desika Stotrams are available at @aradhanam101 non-commercial YouTube channel exclusively for Stotrams divinely rendered by Srimad Srimushnam Periya Andavan SriRanga Ramanuja MahaDesikan with sub-titles in 22 languages scripts). We will post the video clip of HH’s official release of the book and the @aradhanam101 YouTube channel as soon as we receive it. We will be managing this YouTube channel for now but we will eventually transfer the ownership to Srirangam Srimadh Andavan Ashramam. Please click on the book image below to visit the exclusive page for Sri Vedanta Desikan’s Stotra Mala.
- HH Kataksham and Anugraham for Maharishi Valmiki’s Srimad Ramayanam. This is the release of our 2nd Edition. The 1st Edition was released in August, 2020. Details are given below in a following section. Please click on the Maha Kavya image below to visit the exclusive web page for Shrimadh Ramayanam 2nd Edition to access the entire volume, each kANda and even every Sarga in every kANda.
- HH Kataksham and Anugraham for Children’s prayer picture book series: Book – 1 titled “Dhivya Mangala Rupa – VishESHa Shloka”. This is our humble, maiden attempt to bring one visheSha shloka for each dhivyamangala rupam with a picture, transliterated shlokas and its simple meaning in English for children. While it is now a booklet with a standard page size, we will re-design it for a large book size with large print and structure this theme for a series of books. This book is included in the web page accessible from the ‘stotram‘ menu at the top. Clicking on the book image will access the same web page.
- HH Kataksham and Anugraham for @prArTHana101 non-commercial YouTube channel . This channel is for a collection of videos on Shri Vaishnava Sampradhaya Stotrams and Devotional songs rendered by other artists whose audio rendition(s) are available in the public domain or where copyright owner has granted permission to use the audio/video. We offer our voluntary services. We invite artists to give their written permission to offer their audio/video to be upgraded to a non-commercial video format with TT28’s ability to automatically provide sub-titles in 22 languages for a greater audience reach across the globe. We request the audio / video fit the framework of the vision and mission of this website i.e. following Acharyars’ tenets of Sri VaiShnava Sampradhayam.
- HH Anugraham for the release of “ShrI ShrInivASa KalayANam – Koluvu Chithra Katha” . This is yet another first-of-its-kind, short, picture story book for children based on @madhuvan108 non-commercial YouTube channel for videos on 2022 Koluvu. This book is included in the web page accessible from the koluvu sub-menu of ‘stotram‘ menu at the top. Clicking on the book image will access the same web page.
We truly and humbly appreciate the help, advice, feedback and effort which U. Ve. Sri. K. Jagannathan Swamigal has offered every step of the way despite being extremely busy as a devout and dedicated kainkaryaparar for our Acharyan, Pitadhipathi HH Srimad Sri Varaha Desikan. We respectfully give him the full credit to make all this happen through our prep work in the last 2 years and to eventually make this heart-warming announcement on our Acharyan’s Thirunakshatram Mahotsavam.
* SPECIAL VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION * |
At the outset, as promised in our previous announcements, we acknowledge and recognize the following volunteers who have wholeheartedly contributed to the first 2 major efforts mentioned above. Both of them got in touch with us through pratikriya at this website. We seek our revered Acharyan’s Grace to shower His Blessings on the volunteers. On behalf of everyone, we offer our sincere gratitude and we respectfully thank them for their noble efforts.
Sri B. Srinivas, Chennai, India – Sri Srinivas is a humble devotee of Lord Sri Rama. Commencing his efforts in August, 2020, Sri Srinivas meticulously and methodically went through all the verses in the first 6 kaNdas of Srimadh Ramayanam (1st Edition) and sent his corrections in batches through email. With his devotion, dedication and focus, he completed his study and review efforts by the first week of January, 2021. Truly, it was his efforts that motivated us to bring out the 2nd edition of this great Epic.
Sri Srinivas Swamin, we honor and thank you once again!
Smt. Bhargavi Ramprasad, Pondicherry, India – Smt. Bhargavi connected with us in June, 2021. She is an avid follower of Swami Vedanta Desikan’s works. Interacting through email and Telegram messaging app, she quickly grasped the TT28 encoding rules. Out of the 28 Stotras in Sri Desika Stotra Mala, we had encoded 17 Stotrams for our inaugural website release in 2015. Hence, she willingly took the remaining 11 Stotrams and encoded and validated them all. They are aBIthiSthava:, dhEhaLIshaSthuthi:, dhEvanAyakapanchAshath, garudapanchAshath, nyASathilakam, nyASaviMshathi:, sharaNagathidhIpikA, SHOdashAyuDHa SthOthram, varadharAjapanchAshath, vEgASEthu SthOthram, and yathirAjaSapthathi:. She completed her efforts by mid March of 2022. Again, it is her dedicated efforts that motivated us to publish the 1st Edition of Sri Desika Stotra Mala as a book.
Smt. Bhargavi, we honor and thank you once again!
* ANNOUNCEMENT DETAILS * |
Before we go into the details, we have an additional announcement to make. We have created a Telegram channel named “@aradhanam101” to invite interested Bhagavathas to freely interact on matters related to this website, adorable Sanskrit Language and our glorious SriVaishnava Sampradhayam at large. I hasten to add that I am forever a toddler when it comes to Sanskrit and our Sampradhayam and hence, this personally gives me an opportunity to learn from our elders, teachers, scholars and SMEs (subject matter experts). We will have some decent, simple-to-adhere community etiquette for using this messaging medium where there are no emojis, no forwards (act like a post-office), no ads or promotions, no solicitation, etc. If interested, please click the button below to join.
Welcome ! Join aradhanam Telegram Group
Here are the details of our major announcements …
- Swami Desikan’s Stotra Mala and @aradhanam101 YouTube channel.
Our inspiration to bring our version of the Stotra Mala in the digital format and across 28 language scripts came from the sacred, inimitable book shown below with the cover page and the photo of the great Swamin who authored it. We took the liberty to include this photo to express our sheer admiration and utmost reverence for Sri. U. Ve. Vangipuram Navanitham Sri Rama Desikacharyar Swami and for his monumental work. Pretty sure his book is enshrined in every Sri Vaishnava home. We have the 3rd edition book which is nearly 4 decades old. This book with over 1000 pages includes word-2-word meaning and detailed explanation of every shloka in Tamil along with the original verses in Sanskrit. It is befitting to dedicate our efforts in his honor.
Our limited and humble effort includes all 28 Stotrams + Sri Desika Mangalam in pdf format which are also individually published as booklets in all 28 language scripts. In addition, we have included another document for reference purposes. This booklet is called “CHandhOpaSaNGkSHEpa”. This booklet summarizes and tabulates all the CHandhas Swami Desikan has used in His Stotrams. Please see the “Stotrams” tab at the top of the page and browse through the tabular list. We used an excellent and compact, classic e-book in Hindi titled “CHandhOManjarI” by Dr. Brahmananda Tripati as reference to get a grip on the CHandha basics.
We made a conscious effort to present the stotrams in a consistent format that carefully follow the CHandha lakSHaNa. As a first, the name of the CHandha is mentioned before the shloka(s) throughout the book. For readability purposes, we have given 2 spaces between words all through and, if and where a CHandha has yathi(s) [pause(s)] within a pAdha, then we have given 3 spaces for each yathi where it occurs barring places where SanDHi blocks the separation.
Also, as a first attempt on a trial basis, we have included “shabdhavali” for Achyutha Shathakam at the very end of the book. TT28 generates the first column (word in Prakrit) and third column (page index) whereas the second column was manually typed in. The second column is the Sanskrit equivalent for the corresponding Prakrit word. What we would ultimately desire is another column that gives the meaning in English. We are truly looking for a Sanskrit Teacher or Scholar who is willing to volunteer for this effort. If anyone is a willing teacher or scholar or if anyone knows someone they can recommend after seeking their permission and availability, please, please, please, let’s know. Building an online, searchable, interactive dictionary for the sacred words used in the Mahakavyams, Swami Desikan’s works, etc. would be a very good kainkaryam for our community. While TT28 currently does not have any smart Sandhi comprehension in its logic, it does have the extensibility to its current encoding mechanism, wherein books can be printed with text where Sandhi needs to be intact and glossary can be built on ‘de-Sandhified’ individual words.
The Stotram list in our website and in the book are both currently in the same alphabetical order of English titles of the Stotrams.
The second and equally important part of this major announcement is about this website’s sister entity @aradhanam101 YouTube channel.
As a parallel to this project, an effort was made to research the viability of using TT28-tool generated language scripts as sub-titles in YouTube videos. Sub-titling YouTube video is a feature that has been in existence for well over a decade. We had an unbelievable, first-of-its-kind success! It worked!
As a video content creator, adiyEn is able to provide sub-titles in 21 languages scripts out of the 28 “TT28” language scripts and in English for a YouTube video. The user, while playing the video, can select the desired sub-title in any one of the 22 languages for videos created in our @aradhanam101 YouTube channel. In this approach, we do not burn-in any language-specific subtitles into the video itself and thus create 22 language-specific videos. This method would be bulky and tedious. Instead, we create a single video and plug-in all the sub-titles for all the 22 language scripts generated by TT28 which are then dynamically presented in one language based on user’s real-time preference. With Google’s YouTube sub-title capabilities, user can also change the sub-title language on the fly while the video is playing on one’s device – cellphone, tablet, laptop, desktop PC, and even on large TV screens by casting. Please check this feature out. It is really a great feature provided by Google.
What did we accomplish?
All-in-One Winning Formula: Video with a still image of Perumal Photo + Stotram Audio + Shlokam script directly as sub-titles at the bottom of the screen (in user-selectable language)
Well, we
a) took all of Swami Desikan’s Stotrams rendered in audio format by Srimad SriRanga Ramanuja Maha Desikan (Srimushnam Periya Andavan)
b) got the timing template file with timing points associated with the rendition of verses in each Stotram, and
c) prepared a still video for each Stotram with standard prolog and epilog animations
In the final step, TT28 combines it own generated language scripts and verse-level timing data from the above-mentioned timing template to automatically prepare the YouTube video compliant sub-title structures. We then upload them along with one video for each Sri Desika Stotram.
This technical exploration and experience has truly opened a new avenue for content presentation specifically for religious, educational YouTube videos. Sub-titling in multiple languages with just one video helps us reach out to a larger audience and gives the language choice to the end-user. AdiyEn spent several hundreds of hours for this YouTube video channel production for all of the above mentioned efforts in the last quarter. It is now a well-defined and streamlined automated process.
Our website now has links to its sister @aradhanam101 YouTube channel. Given below are the channel link and the list of links to individual Stotram videos. YouTube channel and videos are now public with this announcement by Srimad Andavan today. Please explore / watch / listen / learn the Stotrams which have been divinely and exquisitely rendered by Srimad Andavan. You are encouraged to use the sub-title language of your choice when you play the video. Children, in particular, will love the animations presented in the prolog and epilog sections of each video and also, the special animation effects for Sudarshanashtakam and Sri Desika Mangalam.
We have taken extreme care not to overwhelm the video with animations (aka distraction). Instead, relevant still images have been used for the Stotram rendition portion to enable the mind to draw down and pay attention to the divine and resounding audio rendition. Since sub-title captioning comes on top of video presentation, it is recommended, for a gainful and enjoyable experience, that the YouTube video be played/cast, on a larger screen like on a tablet / PC / television monitor rather than seeing it in a small hand-held cellphone. It still comes out OK on a 6-inch tall cellphone if played as a full-screen video in the landscape format.
Here is the clickable list of videos.
- Swami Desikan’s Sri Shodashayudha Stotram by Srirangam Srimadh Andavan SriRanga Ramanuja MahaDesikan
- Maharishi Valmiki’s Srimad Ramayanam – 2nd Edition
Thanks to volunteering efforts by Sri B. Srinivas and valuable feedback specifically from Prof. Dr. Sri M. A. Alwar, Sri R. Vijayaraghavan, Sri Srikanth Kasturirangan, and Sri Srikanth Venkatesan, we are now releasing the 2nd Edition. Although we had the complete list of corrections from Sri B. Srinivas way back in early 2021, it took time on my part to go over the entire epic one more time and fix all the errors discovered in the first 6 kANdas (if any) and in the Uththara kANda. Also, adiyEn had quite an amount of work on the TT28 software fixes and enhancements that needed to be in place before this new big announcement could take place. Besides, we were working and continue to work in parallel on yet another big project blessed by Srimadh Andavan. This project announcement, although way overdue, should occur in 2023.
Maharishi Valamiki‘s Srimadh Ramayana – 2nd Edition now includes
- error corrections (missing, mis-typing, transliteration, etc.)
- new and standardized title page
- parayanam style chapter conclusion that mentions “ithyArSHE shrImadhrAmAyaNE …” at the end of each chapter
- automated generation of Table of Contents with chapter number, chapter title and page index for both volume as well as individual kANda books in respective languages
- automated shloka numbering without any gaps or repeats
- migration to Google’s NoTo fonts wherever and whenever possible
The 2nd edition will replace the 1st edition in the Stotrams section. Alternatively, we might just provide a link to a separate, dedicated page for Srimadh Ramayanam where even the individual chapters can be individually accessed. This decision has not been made yet because of the large number of files we have to deal with. The number of files is equal to number of chapters (645 in all) x number of languages (28), which means we have to handle over 18,000 files! Hope we will get there since we have everything in place.
- Children’s prayer picture book series: Book – 1
With the enhancements to the TT28 Publisher made in the past recent months, we now have the ability to generate documents in a multi-language script format. For instance, if a shloka is in Sanskrit, TT28 can now generate a document that has a) this shloka presented as-is in Sanskrit, b) in English (phonics-based with all TT28 encodings removed) and in the TT28’s target language script (say Tamil / Telugu / Kannada, etc.). The source MS word document can also contain text and/or images that needs to be preserved as-is without going through any TT28 transliteration.
For a simplified version, being a book for young children, we now have auto-generated a document in a 2-language format with English as the reference language and TT28 target language script. This book has one shloka per each of PerumAL’s and ThAyAr’s dhivya rupam with predominantly and essentially a visheSha shloka from Swami Desika’s Stotra Mala. This is a small book that also includes photos and shloka meaning in English as well. Three sources helped in constructing the meaning in summary format and they are
- Word-2-word meaning in Tamil in Sri Desika Stotra Mala book mentioned in an earlier section above.
- Oppiliappan Koil Dr. Sri. Varadhachari Sadagopan Swamin’s e-books @ https://www.sadagopan.org
- Online Sanskrit Dictionary @ https://www.learnsanskrit.cc
This book is also posted in the Stotram section. pdf books for this series includes the English version too.
TT28 software enhancements done for this project will also help in re-publishing the existing shrIBagavadhArAdhanam book in the multi-language script format for all TT28 target language scripts. Currently, this is the only book in the Ahnikam section of the website. We hope to get this done as soon as we can.
- @prarthana101 YouTube channel
We created another sister YouTube channel (@prArTHana101 non-commercial) for a collection of videos on Shri Vaishnava Sampradhaya Stotrams and Devotional songs rendered by other artists whose audio rendition(s) are available in the public domain / where copyright owner has granted permission to use the audio. Each sub-titled video presented in this channel will have the TT28 -generated pdfs for the Stotram in 28 language scripts at this website. Google currently provides sub-titling for 21 of the TT28 languages and for English. Please note Google does have a very large global language set for sub-titles which is outside of the scope of TT28 Publisher tool. We have launched this channel with the following 3 beautiful videos. In particular, when you watch the Sri Venkatesha Suprabatham video, it literally transports you to the Sri Thirumala Temple right in front of the BangAru VAkili – the Golden DhvAram.
- Sri Venkatesha Suprabatham by MS Subbulakshmi
- Nama Ramayanam by MS Subbulakshmi
- Indian National Anthem Jana GaNa Mana
- ShrI ShrInivASa KalayANam – Koluvu Chithra Katha
We have a project in-place to relocate koluvu- and kolam-related, large video files from this website to @madhuvan108 YouTube channel. We started off this effort first with the 2022 Koluvu celebration. The Koluvu theme was on Sri Padmavathi Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam. Currently, there are 2 videos available. They are –
- Sri Padmavathi Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam Koluvu 2022 story presented by Smt. Madhu Kasturi
- Koluvu 2022 Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam theme – Short Video with Sangeetham by Smt. Jenani Parthasarathy
We have used the English script, prepared by Smt. Madhu Kasturi, to design it into a nice booklet with Koluvu photos. The main booklet is in English. On an experimental basis, for the very first time, we have used the built-in Microsoft Translate tool to publish this booklet in 23 languages including English. Achieving high-fidelity true translation is still a distant goal. I have checked where software-based, automated translation sometimes has gone horribly wrong. We definitely need a language expert to validate the translated document against the English version and/or the original source language version. Because of this concern, we are publishing only the English and Tamil versions for now. It is titled “ShrI ShrInivASa KalayANam – Koluvu Chithra Katha”. Eager to receive your critical feedback on the accuracy / fidelity of the automated translation provided by Microsoft.
This books and links to the YouTube channel are posted at this website in the madhuvan-koluvu section.
Please take note. With this announcement, we are including a new “Special Appeal” section below.
We plug our standard message and appeal here below that is part of every major announcement at this website.

Feedback! We request the following in each and every front page announcement at this website.
We strive our hardest to hand encode and generate the documents correctly. But we may have mistyped something from the input source document or because the keyboard may not have cooperated. Besides, there could be some transliteration bug in the tool that we may not have caught before. But these errors, once found, are very easy to fix both in text and in code. Kindly pardon us for these mistakes. Our eyes would not believe where they are. But, as avid and critical readers, yours can spot them very easily. Hence, please do offer your corrections wherever and whenever you find them. We will fix all reported errors in batches and re-publish the documents as soon as possible. Please use the ‘pratikriyA’ menu tab above or click on this feedback link pratikriyA for your kind feedback. You can also send feedback through Telegram channel @aradhanam101.
As always, we pray this website serves as a good reference material for your parayana, prayer recitation and/or learning purposes in your mother tongue and/or the languages of your choice.
